*Dear All *, *How many of know Hanuman Chalisa & when & how it was written !? * *Must read for all … * *Do you know when Hanuman Chalisa was written?* Everyone worships Sri Hanuman Ji and recites Hanuman Chalisa, but very few know the circumstances under which it originated. This dates back to 1600 AD, during the reign of Akbar. On His way to Mathura, Sri Tulsidas Ji stopped in Agra for the night. News spread that Sri Tulsidas Ji, a great MAHAAN, had come to Agra. When the people heard this, they immediately flocked to see Him. When Emperor Akbar learnt of this, he asked Birbal who this Sri Tulsidas was. Then Birbal, who was himself a great devotee of Lord Rama, said, that Sri Tulsidas Ji had translated Valmiki Ramayana, which was now known as "Ramacharit Manas" & that he too had been to see him. Akbar also expressed his desire to see him. Akbar sent his army to convey to Sri Tulsidas Ji that He should come to the palace immediately. On hearing this message Sri Tulsidas ji said, "I am a devotee of Lord Rama not the emperor, what should I do at the palace?", & refused to go. When this was communicated to Akbar, he was furious and ordered the arrest of Sri Tulasidas Ji & had Him forcefully brought to the Red Fort. When Sri Tulsidas ji reached the Red Fort bound in chains, Akbar said, "You look like an attractive person, can't you show a little charisma!". Sri Tulsidas Ji said "I am only a devotee of Lord Rama & not a magician who can show you any charisma!". This angered Akbar & he ordered the immediate imprisonment of Sri Tulsidas Ji. So, Sri Tulsidas Ji was imprisoned. On the second day, an army of more than a million monkeys attacked the Red Fort & wreaked havoc all around. In absolute panic, Akbar called Birbal & asked for an explanation. Birbal said, "Your highness, do you now see the glory of Lord Rama & His devotee?". Akbar understood & ordered the release of Sri Tulsidas Ji. Later, speaking to Birbal, Sri Tulsidas ji said "I was punished for no fault of mine. I just did what every devotee would do and submitted myself to Sri Rama. I was in tears, and while crying, my hands were involuntarily writing something on their own". What came out of this writing were forty "Chaupayas" which were inspired by Sri Hanuman Ji. Later, Sri Tulsidas Ji said, "Sri Hanuman Ji helped me out of prison. Henceforth, anyone who recites Hanuman Chalisa in times of trouble will find an immediate solution to any problem that he or she faces". Ashamed, Akbar apologized to Sri Tulsidas ji and sent him to Mathura with full respect and protection. Today everyone is reciting Hanuman Chalisa and the grace of Hanuman is upon all of them. This is why Hanuman ji is also known as "Sankat Mochan”
